Paid listings and sponsored placements

At present there are no paid listings or sponsored placements on this site. No law firm has paid to be included on a shortlist, to appear in a particular place on a page, or to have its listing written a certain way.

How firms are chosen

Every firm on a city page went through the same research and selection process, set out on How we select. Firm details come from each firm's own website and from official registers, and every listing shows its sources. Firms are shown in alphabetical order, not ranked.

If paid arrangements are ever introduced

If the site ever offers any paid placement, sponsorship or advertising, it will be labelled clearly on every page where it appears, and this page will be updated to explain what was paid for. A paid arrangement would not change which firms meet the selection criteria, the register and specialist checks, or the information shown about any firm.

Links to law firms

Links to firms' websites are there so you can check their details and contact them. We don't receive any payment when you click a link, call a firm or engage a lawyer.

Other business relationships

The publisher runs other online businesses, and some of them may have commercial relationships with law firms. Those relationships don't decide which firms appear on a shortlist here or where they appear.
